Positive News: Raven Symone is officially a co-host on The View

I must say that I am pleasently suprised by the "Big Announcement" on yesterday's episode of The View that Raven Symone will have the opportunity to be a host on ABC's popular daytime TV talkshow. Raven Symone brings an outspoken, engaging and youthful feel to the program that I believe was somewhat lacking. According to the NY Post, Simone has appeared in 37 episodes of the show that led to this announcment.

The thing that I love the most about her addition to the show is that she adds to a diverse cast that has seemed to change with the times. Her half shaven head and racey lipstick choices... not to mention her openness about race and sexuality would have been frowned upon just a decade ago. Although my choices and view may be different then the ones of Raven Symone, I love the fact that she is proud and fearless in her approach and beliefs. She has the opportunity to shed light and open up the doors for communication on trending topics that some of us shy away from...and that my friend is how you bring upon change.
