High Heeled Cupcakes

Materials Needed:

  • 1 dozen Pre-baked Cupcakes

  • 1 bag of Milano or Lady Finger Cookies

  • 1 container of Pirouette (Chocolate Waffer/cookie Straws)

  • Candy Melts or Chocolate for melting

  • Pre-Made Icing or homeade Icing

  • 1 Piping bag

  • 1 spatula

  • Gel Food Color (your choice)

  • Small Assortment of Sprinkles, edible glitter, edible beads or fondant flowers and pieces

Method:

1. Begin by cutting a small "U" shape cut en each of the mounds of the cupcake. (This is your base)

 

2. Once each cukcake has a small cut, frost to top of each cupcake using desired colored frosting. (careful to avoing the portion you carved out)

 

3. You will need (1) milano or lady finger cookie for each shoe.  You will then carefully cut the tip of the cookie is a saw like motion until the tip of one end is removed and the cookie has a straight edge. (Set asisde this will be your shoe sole)

 

4. Now you will take one of your pirouettes and cut to be about 2"inches long.  Once you have your 2" stick you will then make a vertical/angled cut at the end to give a vertical edge. (set aside)

 

5. Now it is time to melt your chocolates or candy melts.  I usually use a double boiler but the microwave works very well.  Just be careful not to burn. Stir till warm, smooth and creamy.

 

6.  Dip the bottom of your milano with the straight edge into the chocolate.  be sure to be neat and keep chocolate on the bottom and on edge of shoe.  Top of cookie will be visible. Once bottom is coated place on the cupcake in the open section you carved out.

 

7. Sit the vertical tip of the pirouette into the chocolate and then prop that edge under the cookie.  You have now just formed your shoe.

 

8.  Using your icing and piping bag you can create an edge around the cookie and use your decore to design as you please.
