5 Techniques for Harvesting Positivity

If you are anything like me then you know how easy it is to get wrapped up in everything going on around us... There are times when we are just so consumed with our work, families, finances and responsibilities that we can't even take a moment to breathe let alone battle the negative energy that strikes when we are consumed with these other things.
Part of the challenge is that negative energy comes from all around us. You may feel drained after working with co-workers, not to mention sitting in traffic and of course Murpy's Law of anything that can go wrong, will go wrong seems to be the tune of the day.
Well if this too is you...then I have some positively great news for you. You can overcome all of the negative energy in your life starting here today. Here are a few techniques that I have implented into my life daily that have made a positive difference in my life.
1. Start your day off with gratitude.
I have found by speaking of my gratitude I am reminded of just how blessed I am. I have began to wake up in a state of being so thankful that I begin to thank everyone around me. lol. Start each day by saying to yourself or outloud at least one thing that you are grateful for. Being grateful allows you to embrace something positve that you already have. This prepares you for the great things that can come and will come.
2. Say to yourself an affirmation.
An affirmation is a statement of truth. No one can take your truth from you. You can affirm that today will be a great day just by saying it! If your intent is to have a great day you can bring the positive vibes into your heart, mind and soul through daily affirmations.
3. Cancel out Gossip and Negative Chatter with Positivite Responses and Positive Chatter
Let's face it, we all have that negative co-worker or person in your life that is just loves to talk smack, gossip and is always negative. Sure you can avoid this person. You can stop speaking. You can do more harm than good but the best way to combat negativity its with its opposite. That's right! Positivity. There has been times when an associate of mine has began by saying today is going to "be such a long hard day" my response is almost programmed now, I chime back "today is going to be a great day, you will see, time will fly and everything will be over before you know it." I find that responding with positivity does two things. First, it immediately cancels out the negative thought before it festers and attracts more negative energy. Second, my colleague has stopped saying these things to me because negative needs negative to grow. If she can't get me to agree and harp with her she just doesn't bring it up around me anymore. It's a win win situation if you give this a try.
4. Take 5 minutes for yourself. Like Red Bull it gives you wings!
You have to make time for the things that are important to you. You are no different. For at least 5 minutes each day you should honor yourself with 5 minutes of peace and quiet. This can be in the evening, during your lunch break or while you're using the bathroom. Just take a moment for yourself. You take your mind off of work, troubles, finances whatever and just breathe. This is like a 5-hour energy drink for your soul. You take one of these during the day and you can face any hurdle that may come your way. Just Breathe.
5. Listen to some relaxing Music or Jazz
If you can work with a little background noise, fill it with a joyful one. Music is amazing and so delightful to the senses. The right music can be uplifting, inspirational and calming. I try to listen to a little bit of Jazz during my work day to keep my spirits up.
Everyday our fragile minds are inandated with music that prommotes violence and other negative behaviors. Our fragile minds are inandated with the news of curropt politics, racism, violence, deaths and everything that can subconsciousely divide and conquer our positivity. Start tuning out some of that negativity by limiting the amount of negative frequencies that stream in your mind.
Whether you know it or not our behaviors are controlled by our subconscious thoughts which can be distorted by emotions and negative input. Keep your input positive and your life will be positve.
